Showa Ebirah vs. Zilla (Crystal settings)

Setting: Los Angelas. The crystals here have broken this once concrete jungle down into a muddy wasteland, and most structures are very unstable, often leaning over to one side because the mud can't support them very well, if at all. The river has also become terribly cloudy and brown, a result of the sudden increase in moisture breaking down the solid rock so rapidly.


It was here that Zilla now traversed. He was looking for a powerplant that had a recent leakage in it. He wanted to feed on the nucleur energy from it, but those crystals were looking like an even better supply of energy. But someone else wanted the crystal energy as well.

Ebirah surfaced from the ocean, ready to fight Zilla for the crystals. Zilla accepted the challenge, and they charged each other. Once they were close enough, Ebirah clamped his pincer on Zilla's neck, trying to choke him to death. Zilla kicked him under the head, forcing him to let go. He then tail whipped the lobster, sending him careening into a skyscraper, which collasped on top of him. Zilla wandered off to get some energy from the crystals, destroying them tooth and claw to feed on their energy. Ebirah broke free of the structure, and charged at him while Zilla's back was turned. Zilla turned and used his combustive breath, just as another crystal jutted out of the ground between them. This caused an explosion that blew off a small portion of Ebirah's right pincer. Ebirah screeched, then charged again, driving his other one into Zilla's knee. Zilla screeched in pain and staggered, but the wound wasn't as serious as it looked. Ebirah took this moment to grab Zilla's arms. They struggled for a bit, until Zilla gathered up his remaining strength and threw Ebirah into a nearby crystal. It hurt Ebirah, but it also gave him power. He then circled Zilla, striking down a crystal when he got the chance, but so did Zilla. Pretty soon, they were both on the verge of reaching Critical Mass. Zilla then charged Ebirah, biting one of his claws, then grabbing his othe with his hand. He used his Green Atomic Breath, making Ebirah screem in agony. Then, right beneath their feet, a crystal sprang up from the ground, cathing them both across the sides, and sending them each into Critical Mass.

Ebirah dove underwater, preparing to use his Critical Mass to full effect. Zilla, however, knew by instinct that as soon as he set foot in the water, Ebirah would grab him and pull him in, where Ebirah would be stronger. Zilla could swim easily, but Ebirah was better. So, he dug his way through the ground. He tunneled his way towards the water, and stopped just short of bursting out into it. Their was only a wall of earth and a few feet of water seperating him from Ebirah now. His instincts told him that Ebirah was still expecting an attack from the surface, rather than in front. He lashed out, breaking the wall, and grabbed Ebirah as the tunnel flooded. He dragged the astonished mosnter into the tunnel, and then used a Critical Mass-reinforced bite on Ebirah's tail, shattering the Exoskelton in that area. He started to eat what was inside, but had a better idea. He pulled the still in shock and pained Ebirah to the suface and on to the docks, were he used his Atomic Green Breath to roast the exposed skin. Then, he started peeling away the rest of the shell, but Ebirah had recovered by that time. His critical mass had not yet worn off, and he drove a claw into Zilla's chest. Zilla let out a wail of pain, then tore at Ebirah even more fiercly. Ebirah fought back with what remained of his tail, forcing Zilla off of him. Ebirah then drove his claw back into Zillas wound, lifted him up, and threw him into a nearby building. Ebirah hurried over to the surrounding buildings, weaking their bases so that they would collapse on top of the rubble that had already buried Zilla. Satisfied with his work, Ebirah took a step bak to see what would happen. Had Zilla survived?

The rubble began to glow red and melt, but when the rubble was gone, nothing was beneath it but a large hole. Ebirah, out of curiosity, approached it. His critical mass faded away, leaving him drained, but it wouldn't matter. Zilla would be in the same or worse condition as well, seeing as they both entered it at the same time, and how Zilla had just taken a beating. Ebirah was now at the edge of the gap, where he heard a strange noise. It was a strange, low, grumble (like in the 1998 movie, whenever Zilla is about to appear, especially when his kids were just killed. He made those same sounds). Suddenly, Zilla burst out of the ground beneath Ebirah, cutting the lobster open with the spines on his back. Tired and weary they faced eachother, weakened yet determined they clashed. They battle was fierce beyond description, inching evermore to a cliff over the ocean. On into the night they raged, biting, breaking, scratching, burning. Finally, at the egde of the cliff, the humans had a trap ready for them. Ebirah and Zilla were now at the very egde, bleeding and broken, and still they raged. Humans detonated bombs along the egde of the cliff, using it's soft, muddy form to it's advantage. The cliff was completly obliterated, sending them both into the ocean below, burrying them beneath tons of mud and water.
